Just when I thought I went out, Apple withdraws from me … In this case, I speak specifically about how I stuck to use an iPhone Pro model since I was going from Android in 2021.
But every year since then, the iPhone updates have been essentially iterative, with very few upgrades to tingen my technological synapse. Meanwhile, Google Pixel phones have evolved pretty well, and the Pixel 9 Pro on my desk is sitting there, reminding me Android.
He did not succeed, mainly due to the embarrassment of trying to determine how to carefully transfer the WhatsApp messages that I want to keep, and certain Apple services for which I am always registered. But if Apple continues to do as he did with his next generation of iPhones, then I could really be going to Android.
In this spirit, here are the upgrades that I would like to see arriving with the iPhone 17, which allowed me to do the end of the hours and to confer with the flowers in the closed garden of Cupertino.
Improvement of the color and contrast of the camera
Although this is not a problem exclusive to iPhones, I think that the last two generations of Apple smartphones have produced photos in which the shadows are raised and that the reflections are lowered in scenes that have clear and dark elements.
This chooses more details in a photo, but it also has the effect of making a photo flat in terms of contrast and dynamism. I have often greeted Apple to keep the colors natural and be good to capture what my eyes see, but it seems to have lost its contact a little.
I am therefore really impatient that Apple goes back to a step with the iPhone 17 and that its image processing allows deep and dark shadows and pushing light thrusts, all with colors that might seem a little boosted given the lighting situation. Otherwise, I can be attracted to dynamic, although supersaturated photography, of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
A real increase in the performance of the quality of the games
The A17 PRO and A18 Pro chips both promise serious game power for a smartphone. And they deliver … but only so far.
Although iOS now has access to some real quality games consoles as Death Stranding and Sniper Elite 4, they still do not work at the most desirable image frequencies; I particularly fought with this last game.
Thus, rather than the percentage of ascent of the increases in treatment and graphic power with any chip in the iPhone 17 Pro, I would like that Apple speaks of an increase in fractures, targeting 60 images gently per second in the aforementioned games.
I would also like to see Apple Arcade Games that exploit the power of these pro chips, although it might require a lot.
Siri and Apple Intelligence Experience
When the iPhone 16 family arrived, they were defended as a phone with Apple Intelligence.
But this was not really the case, and we had to wait a while for AI -powered tools to come on new phones; So much so that I forgot a lot of features that Apple presented during the launch event, and I probably need Apple to talk to me again.
So, with the iPhone 17, I want Apple Intelligence to be better cooked in iOS and the phones themselves, and Siri is always smart and useful for managing my requests.
I also want practical features like being able to ask Siri to read web pages, digital magazines and so on, naturally and to do it intelligently, without needing me to search in accessibility settings or try to find a bypass to have it read in Apple News +newspapers.
The cameras rinse with the body
I know there is an iPhone 17 chatter, which seems to be a little legitimate, and this phone could decrease the current design of the iPhone and rinse with the cameras with the body of the phone, a bit like the next Samsung Galaxy S25 edge.
But this is a design feature that I want to see for the whole iPhone 17 family, especially the pro models.
I still like the overall design of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but the square panel housing its trio of rear cameras begins to feel a little long in the tooth. So finding a way to make them more compact to adapt to the flush with the glass rear of the phone would be an upgrade that I would like. In addition, it would mark a notable evolution in the flagship design of the iPhone.
Something really surprising
The action button is correct. Camera control is a whole button of Meh. These are two features introduced by Apple with the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 16 respectively, and these are not breathtaking upgrades. In fact, I would say that control of the camera almost embarks my personal experience of the iPhone.
What I really want is a feature that really makes me sit down and be careful. I do not know what it could be, but it could be as simple as having a dedicated video editing application for the iPhone 17 Pro which allows you to easily capture and create videos for YouTube, Tiktokand so on.
Or it could be a modular system that allows you to add camera accessories of the camera. Or a simple way to connect an iPhone 17 to a monitor like Samsung Dex to act as a nickname when you don’t have a MacBook at hand.
I just want to be surprised by an iPhone for once, because it is something that has not happened for years. So the crossed fingers.
