Speaker of the US House of Representatives will stop in Jackson
U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson will attend an event this week in Jackson. Johnson is scheduled to speak Thursday at 3 p.m. at Jackson Preparatory School. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. The House on Saturday passed a $95 billion foreign aid package that includes support for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan in a series of separate bills. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries on social media for their work pushing for passage of the crucial bill that provides billions of dollars in funding for Kyiv.
