Royal Family Lets Prince Harry Know Where They Stand With This Crushing Decision

Prince Harry has apparently geared up its security services for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in the UK, as it is confirmed for the May 8 celebration. While this should be a momentous occasion for all members of the royal family since the Duke of Sussex launched the philanthropic initiative while in his senior role, the palace is making it very clear where it stands with Harry in this special day.

For now, no members of the royal family are expected to join him at his reading at St. Paul’s Cathedral next week, according to the Daily Mail. He will likely attend the event solo, then fly to Nigeria with his wife Meghan Markle to enjoy the country’s “traditional cultural activities.” The duo was invited by the Nigerian Chief of Defense Staff after interacting at the Invictus Games in Germany last year. The country could also court Harry and Meghan to host the sporting event there in the future.

The celebration service in the UK will only further highlight the royal family feud. King Charles III has resumed his engagement schedule, but it is still not expected despite a slight warming up between father and son in recent months. Queen Camilla and Prince William aren’t best friends with Harry at the moment, but it would have been nice if Princess Anne or Prince Edward had shown some family support for the Invictus Games, which were a notable success for the Duke of Sussex.

However, the Invictus Games will be hard for the palace to ignore. The British government is aggressively courting Harry for the 2027 games in Birmingham – and is investing $32 million in support of the bid. “I am delighted that the Government is supporting the UK’s bid to host the Invictus Games 2027 in Birmingham,” Defense Secretary Grant Shapps wrote on X in March. “This demonstrates our commitment to supporting our armed forces and recognizing their heroic contribution to the defense of the nation. The Invictus Games highlight and support injured and ill military personnel, veterans and their families who continue their recovery through the power of sport.

It seems heartbreaking that no one in the palace can be bothered to show up for Harry. (Meghan is likely absent due to Prince Archie’s fifth birthday on May 6.) This shows that despite the Duke of Sussex’s best efforts with his father, the overwhelming response proves that moving to the United States was the best solution to long term.
