The Samsung Galaxy S25 series omits significant Android functionality, reporting claims

A new report says that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is missing an important Android safety functionality that Google wishes to make compulsory on all new devices running Android 15 and more.

Android Expert Mishaal Rahman Recently, indicated that smartphones from the Samsung Galaxy S25 series do not seem to support the Advanced Android Virtualization Frame (Avf), leaving them incompatible with advanced features such as the next Android Linux Terminal App.

What is AVF?

AVF, introduced in Android 13, allows your device to create secure isolated virtual machines that run a mini version of Android called Micrododes. These virtual machines can execute code in a protected environment with restricted access to equipment and sensitive data from a smartphone. Conversely, AVF can Protect the code in progress From malicious applications on the host apparatus.

Cultivated from Samsung Knox The solution reproduces many AVF safety advantages, such as the separation of sensitive data and biometrics from the rest of the Android operating system.

However, Google’s new Android Linux Terminal Application goes further, allowing you to run a complete Linux operating system in a virtual machine. This could possibly allow Android devices to execute Linux graphic applications like Chrome OS can already.

Rahman says that the Galaxy S25 series equipment should be able to execute AVF. Rival devices like the recently published OnePlus 13 support by using the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as Samsung. However, Samsung chose not to do it.

According to a previous report From Rahman, at least 361 Android devices from various manufacturers already support AVF. However, no Samsung devices is among them, despite Google’s declared intention to take the AVF support OBLIGATORY in the future.

Will Samsung will support AVF in the future?

The new Android Linux Terminal application will probably be launched with Android 16, it will therefore be interesting to see if Samsung adds AVF support in a user interface 8 later this year.

Although most of the owners of the Galaxy S25 series are not missing, it would be unfortunate that a flagship device like the Galaxy S25 Ultra is missing the widely available applications on the devices of other manufacturers.

I contacted Samsung to comment on this problem and I will report with all updates.
