WhatsApp has rolled out a new camera update for iOS users, now available for select users.
In its new update, the camera will have a feature to apply AR effects, backgrounds and filters to the camera settings.
Some users of the messaging app may explore a new button to enable augmented reality effects, backgrounds and filters directly from the camera.
Users can access new features by opening the camera and tapping the “wand” icon to use these effects.
Once this is set, users can apply animated effects like confetti or stars that appear on the screen.
They can also use this feature to modify facial expressions and change the color tones of their videos from a wide variety of hues.
There is also a “Retouch Mode” which refines the appearance of the face and smoothes skin tones. It also removes minor imperfections, allowing users to look fresh and their best during video calls.
“Low Light Mode” in this new update is a feature that automatically adjusts brightness and contrast to improve visibility in dimly lit environments.
This update is only available to a few selected beta testers and can be downloaded via the iOS App Store.
