One of Apple’s best recent features is the iPhone Iroring, which allows you to control an iPhone from a Mac. Scrcpy is a free application for Linux, Windows and MacOS that does the same thing: it allows you to control your Android phone from a computer window.
This application takes a bit of configuration – it launches from the terminal or control prompt, one thing, and that only works if you activate developer mode on your Android phone. Once you have configured it, you can control the screen of your Android from your computer, or even activate a virtual screen so you can launch applications while your phone is off.
To start, you will need to install Scrcpy (which is just “screenshot” without vowels). The easiest way to do so is using a package manager like Homebrew on the Mac or Scoop for Windows. Linux users can use the package manager with their distribution. The use of a package manager is recommended because it will also install all dependencies, that is to say that it will install all the tools and drivers that you need to use to operate the application.
If you do not have a package manager, or if you just prefer to use one, you can Download the latest version And try to run it directly. You will need to make sure that all outbuildings are installed, so check the documentation for more details.
As always, be careful when downloading the application. Do not download Scrcpy from a third -party website – Stick to a package manager mentioned in the documentation or download it from the official Github page.
After installation, you must activate USB debugging on your phone, which requires the activation of the developer mode. To start, head to Parameters > About the phone and press the Construction number Until you see a message that says You are now a developer.
