Make memory movies, with or without Apple Intelligence


There are now two ways to create souvenir films on photos from iOS 18.1 or later: a method is the same way you have done in the previous iOS versions, and the new one draws an Apple intelligence if It is available on your device.

To use this last method, you will have to have an iPhone capable of supporting Apple Intelligence. This means an iPhone 15 pro, iPhone 15 pro Max or any iPhone 16 model.

Make memories without Apple Intelligence

For people on older devices, we will first help create souvenir films on photos using the original method. As with Apple Intelligence’s method, a large part of the work is automated by photos itself.

The same methodology you use to create souvenir movies on photos on iOS 18 also applies to iPados 18. It all starts by choosing an album that you created previously.

To start

If you have not yet created an album of related photos or videos, do it first. If you already have an existing album to which you want to add these images, simply press the existing album on the list.

To create a whole new album, press the sign more to create and name a new album. Press Albumthen press Create. Faucet New albumThen give a name to the album.

You can then select photos from your entire collection of photos. If you have any videos you want to add, you can also select them.

Add photos or videos of existing albums to make your film Memories.

To select several photos or videos at a time, press theSelect Button to choose as much as you wish. Once you have done this, press the Ellipses button and select Add to the album. “”

Photos and videos can exist in several albums, so you do not move any photos anywhere. They will all stay in the main photo library and all the albums you put them before.

Once you have an album of all the photos or videos you want to use to create your memory, just press this album on the photos. A drop -down menu will appear and you can select Read the memory video.

An automatically generated film will start to play, including music from your Apple Music library. We suggest looking at the automatic generation first before deciding if you want to customize it.

The way of Apple Intelligence to make memory movies

If you have an iPad or an iPad capable of executing Apple Intelligence, you can use it to generate the film Memory instead – and publish Apple Intelligence, Apple sometimes calls them memory movies instead of memories.

Apple is incompatible with this, so the first thing you do is scroll through the Memories Photos section, where he says Create. This card includes a text prompt area so that you can type a description of the video you want to create.

For example, type “Family and Friends in New York over the years” or “Our trip to Geneva”, will automatically generate a memory film. You can use locations, the names of anyone you have identified in the photos, as well as the times of the year, special occasions, etc.

Once you have typed a description and supported a return, a graphic appearing showing Apple Intelligence assembling the film using your photos and videos. The keywords you have used in your description, as well as others on your photos, will also float at the bottom.

As soon as the film is over, it will start to play. The first image will have the title of the film, generated by Apple Intelligence from your keywords. While the film plays, you can type to take a break, then type near the bottom to see the photos and videos that were chosen.

Personalization of your memory movie in photos

To make changes to the automatically generated memory film, just press the screen during reading, then press the Pause button. Then press the button at the bottom of the screen to the left – the mixture button mixes.

This allows you to modify the operating order of selections in the film and offers several options. You can review everyone to decide which one you like the most.

You can also change the music that was chosen at random by photos by pressing the music button on the right side. This allows you to select any track from your existing music library.

Your finished memory films can be seen on the main page of the photos.

The most distant button on the right is for filters. It allows you to apply filters to memory, including the film in black and white, a faded color or a heat added among other options.

Once you have chosen these options, you can press the screen to see the film Memory with the changes you have made.

Additional changes

By default, the title of the film Memory is generated automatically from the name of the albums or the album that you have chosen photos. To change it, as well as to reorganize or manage the photos and videos in memory, press the Ellipses menu at the top right of the memory.

Here you can change the title, reconfigure the memory to put the photos in the order you want, and more. You can also broadcast the movie Memory to another device from this menu, or hide it to prevent anyone from seeing it.

You can also add the memory movie to your favorites from this menu. When you have finished, press the rear arrow button at the top left, then Do.

Memory films are stored in the For you Photo tab, so you can see them at any time.

If you want to edit the movie again later, you can press the Ellipses menu at the top to modify the title and the images used. You can also choose to replace the music chosen to accompany the film.

Faucet Do When you have made your changes and the film can be played again to see your changes. The movie Memory will be available at any time in the photos, unless you choose to delete it.
