How to deactivate Android Auto

This article describes how to deactivate Android Auto. You can do it while trying to correct Android Auto or prevent it from starting automatically when you connect your phone to your car.

How to deactivate Android Auto

Android 10 and subsequent versions of the operating system do not allow you to uninstall Android Auto. But you can Disable it to prevent Android Auto from starting automatically each time your phone connects to your car.

1. Open it Parameters Application and press Applications.

2. Select See everything [#] applications.

3. Faucet Android Auto from the list.

4. Faucet Disable > Deactivate the application.

How to remove your car from Android Auto

Deleting your Android Auto car is another way to prevent your car from using it. This option is available via the Android Auto application.

1. Open Parameters and seek Android Auto. Press it when you see it.

2. Select Additional parameters in the application.

3. Faucet Previously connected cars.

4. Choose your car from the list.

5. Select Forget.

6. Faucet Add new cars to Android Auto To confuse this. Leaving this would start the Android Auto configuration the next time you join your phone in your car.

Why is Android Auto automatically starts?

Despite all the nice applications you can use with Android Auto, we don’t all want to use this feature whenever we connect our phone to load. Fortunately, it’s easy to control if Android Auto automatically starts.

Android Auto starts automatically because it’s practical. But if you prefer not to use it, for each reader, you can change when the application starts.

Open the application as described above (search for it in the settings), then choose Automatically start Android Auto > If you are used on the last reader.

Why can’t I deactivate Android Auto?

All modern androids should be able to deactivate Android Auto. Android 9 or more phones have had the opportunity to uninstall the application, but it is now a default application on modern devices, which means that it cannot be deactivated.

If the above advice did not work to deactivate Android Auto, consider buying a dedicated charger. Since this offers a USB connection for power only, rather than data, it should not trigger Android Auto and will always allow you to load your phone.

A portable charger is another way to keep your phone in juice without having to deal with the connection of your car or accidentally trigger Android Auto.

Finally, you can connect your car to Bluetooth to play music or hear rotating directions from a navigation application on your phone. This does not require Android Auto.
