Right now, he promises to be a mixed bag. It seems that we have another year of familiar conceptions, but at least some of the specifications are exciting – at least for one of the phones. The other? Not so much.
We are still at the start of the rumor mill for the two phones, so everything here must be taken with a little skepticism. But assuming that these leaks are a precise overview of what will happen, 2025 can be a frustrating year to be a foldable fan of Samsung.
What do you think of the leaks Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7?

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks like a solid upgrade (mainly)
Let’s start on a positive note. At first glance, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 does not look like a massive overhaul of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. And this is because this is not the case. However, there are enough changes here for me to be more interested in the phone than a week ago.
Perhaps the largest upgrade on the fold 6 is the size of the display. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is supposed to have an interior screen of 8.2 inch – much larger than the 7.6 -inch screen on the Z Fold 6. An 8.2 -inch screen would secure the fold 7 as having the largest screen on a foldable bookstore, even beating the 8.1 -inch panel on the Oppo Find N5. Although Samsung has reduced interior screen glasses each year, it has had the same display measure of 7.6 inch from the Galaxy Z 2 fold. A jump to 8.2 inch would be significant.
And even with the increase in the size of the display, Samsung is also on the right track to make the fold 7 especially thinner than the fold 6 – measuring supposedly only 4.5 mm thick when it is open compared to 5.6 mm for its predecessor. Although the OPPO finds N5 would always have the crown as the thinnest foldable in this class, losing almost a complete millimeter while increasing the interior display by more than half-pouce is not a small feat on the part of Samsung. The blanket screen can also get a bump, perhaps 6.3 inch to 6.5 inch.
The 200 megapixel primary camera is also impressive which can finally replace the aging camera of 50 MP used on the fold 6 (and the fold 5 and the fold 4 before it). The main camera of the fold 6 is not bad, but it’s nothing special either. The fold za has been expected for a long time for a new primary camera sensor, so hear that we could get one on the fold 7 is exciting.
Rumor display, slimming and camera changes are really exciting.
What is not so exciting? We will probably consider unchanged battery and loading specifications, which means a 4400mAh battery and 25 W wirmed load speeds. Not only are the exact specifications that we have had from fold 3, but other foldables exploded Samsung out of the water. The Honor Magic V3 has a 5150mAh battery and a 66W wire load, while the OPPO finds a 5600 mAh battery and a wired 80W load – and the two are thinner than the 7.5 mm 4.5 mm thick of the Z Fold 7, measuring 4.4 mm and 4.2 mm, respectively.
The overall design is not very different from the latest generations of PLI-Z. Although less worry as a stagnant battery and load specifications, a new layer of paint has been expected for a long time.
I am concerned with the Galaxy Z Flip 7
With Samsung which supposes supposedly impacting modifications to fold 7, it surely means that similar attention is devoted to Z Flip 7… right? Unfortunately, it does not look like this way.
Like the fold 7, Samsung should enlarge the Flip 7 screens – taking the 3.4 -inch blanket screen and a 6.7 -inch interior screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and increasing them to 3.6 inch and 6.8 inch, respectively, on Flip 7.
It’s good to see, but unlike the potentially class screen size for the fold 7, it would always put Flip 7 well behind the competition. Last year, Motorola Razr Plus (2024) has not only a larger 4-inch coverage screen, but the resolution, brightness and refreshment rate are kilometers in advance on Flip 6. There is no mention of the other improvements to display the cover for Flip 7 beyond the largest size, and if this will be a difficult to swallow.
The Z Flip 7 would also have upgraded the camera sensors, although the extent of these upgrades is not clear. Like Flip 6, the Flip 7 would have a 50 MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawid camera. The potential of new sensors is promising, but I hesitate what impact they will have the identical consonance configuration.
And that’s about everything for FLIP 7. There are no changes expected from the battery capacity, load speeds, RAM or storage. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t seem promising to me.
A mixed bag for Samsung foldables in 2025

It should be reiterated that these are all leaks and rumor information. Not only that, but we are still months from the expected Liberation of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 this summer. This is to say that we do not have a perfectly clear image of how these phones will get rid of and we will continue to know more about them in the weeks and months to come.
But on the basis of what we know today, I can’t help but feel torn apart by these phones.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has really promising improvements, but other aspects become far too long in the tooth. The larger screens for Flip 7 are good to see, but if that and some minor camera adjustments are all we get, it is hardly an exciting upgrade.
Everything leaves me mixed in the foldable range of Samsung 2025; Not too enthusiastic or disappointed. I want Samsungg to flush me with its foldable as before, and looking at these latter leaks, I am not yet there.
