What you need to know
- Chrome for Android now stretches the contents to the edges, even under the state and navigation bars.
- It is hidden when you scroll, giving you more room for content.
- The edge design on board 135 is live for a small group, with a wider launch expected later.
Google wants Chrome for Android to feel more immersive, so the applications will now extend to the edges of your screen, just under the status and navigation bars.
The research giant has announced in a community that he started testing a new version of Chrome for Android which aims to maximize your screen space for a smoother and more immersive experience (via 9TO5GOOGLE).
The visual below shows the chrome user interface which extends transparent to the lower edge, with flowing content in the area of the navigation bar.
According to Google, the new Chrome update brings an intelligent background bar that disappears when you scroll, releasing more space for content under the navigation bar.
The Chrome team made sure that it works with current mobile web conceptions, but Google also warns developers to monitor possible horses with the gesture navigation bar.
This is a big change compared to the current configuration, where the gestural pill is on a united and solid background. The new tweak has a more dynamic appearance, with content that flows right behind.
When the update is deployed to everyone, the gesture handle will float on content on the web browser when you scroll. But when you are not scrolling and the address bar is visible, it will return to the classic background in solid color.
Even if the on -board screen rendering is possible, it has not been widely adopted due to certain challenges of real world design. On the one hand, applications and the system navigation bar can be found on each other, leading to taps or accidental sweeping.
To solve these problems, Google last year gave developers the tools and advice necessary for a gently on -board edge rendering. The technology giant has also sent a high head, warning that applications without the right updates could run for display problems.
Google began to deploy the on -board edge arrangement in Chrome 135 for Android, but it is only live for a small group of users at the moment.
