Utah to Advance AI Education, Training


A new AI education initiative in the UTA State, developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, should advance State’s commitment to state training and economic growth.

The public-private partnership aims to provide universities, community colleges and adult education programs in UTAH with resources aimed at developing generative AI skills.

“The AI ​​will continue to grow in importance, affecting each sector of the UTAH economy,” said Spencer Cox, Governor of Utah. “We have to prepare our students and teachers for this revolution. Working with NVIDIA is an ideal way to help ensure that UTAH is positioned for the growth of the nearby and long -term AI. »»

As part of the new initiative, UTAH educators can obtain certification through the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute University Ambassador Program. The program offers high -quality teaching kits, extended workshop content and access to workstations accelerated by GPU Nvidia in the Cloud.

By empowering educators with the latest AI skills and technologies, the initiative aims to create a competitive advantage for the entire higher education system in UTAH.

“We believe that AI education is more than a way to innovation – it is a basis for resolving some of the most urgent challenges in the world,” said Manish Parashar, director of the University of Uta Institute of IT and scientific imaging (SCI)which leads the AI initiative responsible for UN-U. “By equipping students and researchers with tools to explore, understand and create with AI, we allow them to be able to stimulate progress in medicine, engineering and beyond.”

The initiative will begin with the Utah Higher Education System (USHE) and several other State universities, notably the University of UTAH, the Utah State University, the University of Utah Valley, the Weber State University, UTAH Tech University, Southern Utah University, Snow College and Salt Lake Community.

Set up students and professionals to succeed

UTAH AI Education Initiative will benefit students entering the labor market and professionals by helping them extend their skills beyond the education courses of community or adults.

Utah state agencies explore how internship and learning programs can provide students with practical experience with AI skills, helping to fill the gap between education and industry needs. This initiative is aligned with the wider UTAH objectives to promote an informed workforce and to position the State as a leader in the innovation and application of AI.

While AI continues to evolve and gain the prevalence in industries, UTAH’s proactive approach for educators and students with resources and training will help prepare its workforce for the future of technology, by weakening its competitive advantage.
