Google Photos for Android adds “a backup of cancellation devices”

As previously announced in December, Google Photos now allows you to “cancel the device backup” on Android.

This parameter “Delete all the photos and videos that are currently found on your device on Google Photos.” “Cancel a backup for this device” has been introduced for the first time on iOS and is now available in Google Photos 7.18 for Android:

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Photos app.
  2. At the top, press the photo of your profile or initial, then the photo settings, then save.
  3. To display the off-screen items below, scroll.
  4. Press Undo Sauvemps for this device.
  5. Besides “I understand that my photos and videos of this device will be deleted from Google Photos”, check the box.
  6. Press Delete Google Photos Backup.

These photos and videos will remain on your phone or tablet, but are deleted from cloud albums, shared albums, search results, souvenirs and your locked folder.

Then the backup of Google Photos will be deactivated. This option is for the time you “may not want all your photos on your device anymore.”
