Two die-hard Scotland fans have been wearing their kilts for two weeks in Germany after their suitcases went missing.
Billy Maxton, 67, and Bob Burnett, 69, travel by land and sea following the Tartan Army and are always equipped in traditional attire during travel and on match days.
The pair, from Dalkeith in Midlothian, had however hoped to wear casual clothes on the days between matches during Euro 2024 – but when they landed in Munich their suitcases were nowhere in sight.
Billy said: “We traveled from Edinburgh on Tuesday but when we got here our suitcases hadn’t arrived. We tried to find him, but no one knows where they are.

He continued: “We’ve been looking for this for three days and if we don’t get our suitcases it will take us at least two weeks in our kilts. If they don’t come, you’ll see us sitting in a bar with a big empty space around us because of the smell.
“But we’re just lucky, because we were wearing the perfect outfits before the suitcases disappeared, and our kilts weren’t in the bag! »
Billy, a retired city employee, and Bob, who worked in a hospital before retiring, didn’t let the loss of that business dampen their spirits. Bob added: “The weather and atmosphere was incredible. We also have tickets for all the matches, so we can’t wait.
“It’s taken a long time to get to a tournament abroad, so it’s a great feeling. I think we’ll get past the group stage then. Who knows how far we could go from there .

Michelle Jamieson, 54, from Florida (middle) also got in on the action, posing with the pair before adding: “We love the Scots!”
“We are supposed to return home after Stuttgart, but we will cancel our flight if we make it. If that means another week in these outfits, so be it. Three weeks in the same clothes, what more could you ask for?
As the two friends posed in their full kilts and sporrans – with their caps and dozens of badges from every country in the world where they followed the tartan army pinned on them – they were joined by tourists desperate to take a photo with the pair.
