Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané knows the quality of the German national team

Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané feels good about the situation under Julian Nagelsmann for the German national team.

“It’s looking good so far. Julian knows where I stand. We have a clear plan that we will implement. I am very optimistic and certain that this will work. If I do my best, the coach knows exactly what he will get from me,” Sané told Kicker (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), “The atmosphere is good. We have a great mix. We get along well on the pitch, but also off it. We need the same energy at the start as in the two test matches. So all doors will be open to us, even to win the tournament if everything goes well.

“We have enormous footballing quality, we have a great team. You just need to bring the same energy on the pitch as against France and the Netherlands, and then safety and quality will follow. If we do, we are among the favorites. The special spirit that was missing (in past tournaments) is now there. We need to protect this energy in the coming weeks, it’s so important.

As for Sané’s role in the tournament, the Bayern Munich star simply wants to contribute and be a leader.

“I want to lead the way with performances. I want the coach and the team to know that they can count on me. Of course, my goal is to play as much as possible. We have a strong group in which everyone will find their place and will have enough playing time. When I give my best, the coach knows exactly what he expects from me,” Sané said.
