Young attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni creates something of a tactical dilemma for Inter Milan going forward.
Today’s print edition of the Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNewsnote that there are questions about how the 19-year-old would fit into Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system.
Carboni will likely be part of Inter’s pre-season preparations after returning from the Copa America with Argentina.
The teenage attacking midfielder has already trained under Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi.
However, this summer will be the first time the manager has worked with Carboni as a full senior player, following the big steps forward he made on loan at Monza last season.
Therefore, Inzaghi can get a real sense of how Carboni fits into his tactical system.
And according to Gazzetta, this is where some problems could arise.

According to Gazzetta, Carboni has shown over the last twelve months that he functions best as an attacking right winger or attacking midfielder.
None of these roles really exist in Inzaghi’s system.
The coach has a clearly defined idea of how he wants his team to play. There are two attackers, three midfielders, two wingers and three central defenders.
Midfielders and wingers should be versatile and contribute significantly on both sides of the ball. SO, Carboni He is unlikely to play in these areas of the pitch.
The Argentinian could instead try to play among the top two.
Inzaghi has shown some versatility in the types of profiles he uses in the striking duo, both at Lazio and Inter.
So this is where Carboni would be most likely to feature.
