Apple’s iOS 18 has made many changes to the Photos Application and after spending time trying each new feature, I found that these offers were a significant value.
Although Apple Intelligence was undoubtedly the most important addition for iPhone, iPad and MacBook users, some of the most practical improvements have been implemented in the Photos Application.
If you are like me, you may have encountered challenges in the organization and search for specific images in your constantly increasing library. And there are certain features that are distinguished while they approach common pain points.
Let’s take a look at these five features which make the most significant difference in the way you really use the photos in iOS 18.
1. Hit people from memories

Whether you have gone through a break, you have dropped or just wanted to see less of someone in your life, Apple has quietly built one of its most thoughtful features in the Photos Application: the possibility of controlling that appears in your memories.
To do this, Open the Photos Application And find a photo where the person’s face is clearly visible. Press the Info (i) buttonSO choose Stretch this person less. If the person is presented in a group photo, Press their personal icon.
You will get two options: Stretch (to reduce their appearance in memories) or Never appear (to completely delete them from memories). Choose one And faucet Confirm To save.
This only works for photos where iOS has detected the person’s face. These photos will always remain in your library, they will simply not appear in features.
2. Try a memory film

Memory Film transforms the way you create slideshow from your photo library using simple text prompts. This functionality prevents the concept of memories by giving you much more control over what appears and how it is presented.
For example, the entry of “photos of football and baseball matches will take place on fanfare music” Generate a slideshow with exactly these images of your library.
To use this feature, Open the Photos Application and scroll towards Memories. Faucet Create To start a Memory film. Choose a suggested prompt or Type yours – Specific ideas work better. You can also Choose a musical style (Apple Music users get more options).
Once finished, type Do or the arrow upwards. Apple Intelligence Will generate a film using relevant photos, text and music. It plays automatically when it is ready.
3. Research with Apple Intelligence

The improved search feature in iOS 18 photos represents a leap forward in the search for specific images. Previously, research was limited to basic keywords, but Apple Intelligence now allows natural language requests who understand the context and the nuances.
Finding something like “Dinner in Southampton” will now make meal photos intelligently during your trip. This contextual understanding extends to objects, places, people and activities.
I found it particularly precious during research for years of travel photos. Where I had to remember specific dates once or manually create albums, I can now use conversational language To find exactly what I’m looking for in a few seconds.
4. Cash screenshots

The possibility of automatically filtering screenshots from your main photo view deals with a common pain point for many iPhone users.
This immediately hides all the screenshots of your main view of the gallery without deleting them, creating a much more clean navigation experience focused on your photographs.
To use this feature, Open the Photos Application,, Press the filter icon,, Select Options DisplayAnd Uncheck screenshots.
What makes this feature particularly precious is that it requires no continuous management. The screenshots remain accessible if necessary thanks to the album tab, but they no longer strengthen your main photo flow.
For someone who takes dozens of screenshots daily for practical articles, this functionality changes the game.
5. Create a shared album

The functionality of shared albums has received significant improvements that make them more useful for collaborative photo collections.
The creation and management of shared albums are now more intuitive, with better controls on which can see and contribute to your collections.
To create a shared album, simply Open the Photos Application and go to Albums tab. SO Shared tap And Create.
After Name your albumHe is ready to share with the participants. My friend and I use a shared album to keep us informed of our lives, when we cannot go to the phone.
I found that it is also particularly useful after having attended events or traveled with groups, because everyone can contribute their perspectives. In addition, it is an ideal place to store memories.
