Stormy today but hot tomorrow


GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Today was mostly dry except for a few showers and thunderstorms that moved through the area this afternoon. The coverage wasn’t as bad as yesterday, but there were still some strong to severe storms. The weekend will end hot tomorrow.

Weather in Country Jam

The rest of the evening looks dry as these showers and storms continue to dissipate this evening. This will be good news for Country Jam as they look to finish strong tonight. Temperatures there will be around 87 degrees at 6 p.m., 78 at 10 p.m. and dropping to 70 degrees just after midnight.

Sunday baseball weather

The Colorado Rockies will host the Washington Nationals tomorrow to conclude this series. The first pitch takes place at 1:10 p.m. under mostly sunny skies with a temperature of about 92 degrees and light winds of about 5 mph. Temperatures will rise throughout the game to around 95 degrees. The Grand Junction Jackalopes will host a double header against the Ogden Raptors tomorrow. The first pitch of this doubleheader begins at 11 a.m. with the temperature around 88 degrees under mostly sunny skies. The mostly sunny skies will stay with us throughout both games, but the temperature will reach the day’s high of around 97 degrees during the second game. If you’re attending one of these baseball games this weekend, be sure to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen.

The rest of the evening will be mostly clear with temperatures around 80 degrees at 8 p.m., around 70 degrees at midnight and around 60 degrees at 6 a.m. Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs around 90 degrees in Grand Junction, around 90 degrees in Montrose, around 90 degrees in Delta and around 90 degrees in Cortez.
