IOS 19 will be unveiled on WWDC25 in June, and according to a private account on X, the new iPhone operating system will not be compatible with the iPhone XR, IPhone XS or iPhone XS Max. The account has provided precise information on the compatibility of peripherals in the past.
It seems that iOS 19 will abandon the management of the A12 Bionic chip, which feeds the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and IPhone XS Max.
Iphones expected to have the ability to manage iOS 19 the following:
- iPhone 16th
- iPhone 16
- Inphone 16 plus
- iPhone 16 pro
- IPhone 16 PRO MAX
- iPhone 15
- IPhone 15 Plus
- IPhone 15 pro
- IPhone 15 pro max
- IPhone 14
- IPhone 14 Plus
- IPhone 14 Pro
- IPhone 14 Pro Max
- IPhone 13
- IPhone 13 Mini
- IPhone 13 Pro
- IPhone 13 Pro Max
- IPhone 12
- iPhone 12 mini
- IPhone 12 Pro
- iPhone 12 Pro Max
- IPhone 11
- IPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
- IPhone se (2nd generation or later)
Although the iPhones listed above should support iOS 19, there will probably be advanced features that will only be available on more recent iPhones with more advanced processors. For example, Apple Intelligence of iOS 18 only works on IPhone 15 pro models and 16.
Meanwhile, the iPados 19 should remove the support for the low -cost iPad of the seventh generation with an A10 fusion chip.
