New York (WBNG) – Governor Kathy Hochul announced that eight Suny campus constituted departments, centers and institutes of AI and society.
Hochul said that it is to initiate various disciplines and communities, widen the development of AI to prepare students in the future and advance the use of AI for the public good.
Thanks to this program, New York State provided $ 5 million in funding to promote inclusive AI research, respond to ETHA ethical concerns and advance the use of responsible data.
“The progression of AI research in New York state will inspire other states to follow our way,” said Governor Hochul. “Investing in AI in the Suny system is an investment in our students to extend their knowledge about what the future will bring. We do not only prepare students at AI – We feel how AI serves society, ensuring that it strengthens communities and our economy. ”
The officials said that Suny delivered the vision of Governor Hochul of artificial intelligence for the public good. The projects are operational during the first “alpha” phase of the AI Computing Center Empire, hosted at the University of Buffalo.
Governor Hochul’s executive budget provides additional resources to extend the IT IT IT capacity and provide additional IT resources to Suny researchers.
Two first SUNY projects include the University of Binghamton looking for large -language models and anti -Semitism on social networks to detect hateful content. The other project is a 3D foundation model for high-speed characterization of metal-organic frames for climate change applications.
