Apple published iOS 18.4 on March 31, and the update has made bug corrections, new emoji and a new recipe section in Apple News to all iPhones. The update has also provided a handful of new orders to the control center of your iPhone, including a control that provides Visual intelligence to the iPhone 15 pro and pro max.

When Apple published iOS 18 in September, the update reshaped the control center and gave you more, uh… control the functioning of the functionality. With iOS 18, you can resize controls, assign certain checks to their own dedicated page and adjust the placement of controls to your taste. Apple has also introduced more functionality controls, making it a central center for all your most used iPhone features.

With iOS 18.4, Apple continues to extend the number of controls you can add to the control center. If you have the update to your iPhone, you can add ambient musical controls, and Apple Intelligence compatible iPhones also have some AI commands in the menu.

Here is what you need to know about new controls and how to add them to your control center.

Ambient music checks

Apple gave each four new checks in the Control Center library in the ambient music category. These controls are sleep, cold, productivity and well-being. Each of these controls can activate a reading list filled with music that corresponds to specific control – sleep, for example, plays ambient music to help you go to bed.

According to the mental health company CalmSome types of music can help you fall asleep faster and improve the quality of your sleep. Thus, these new controls can help you learn, to fall asleep and more.

Here’s how to find these controls.

1 and 1 Slide down the upper right corner of your home screen to open your control center.
2 Press the most (+) Connect in the upper left corner of your screen.
3 and 3 Faucet Add a check.

You should see a section of checks called Ambient music. You can also search for “ambient music” in the search bar at the top of the control library.

Below Ambient musicYou will see the four orders. Press one (or all) to add them to your control center. Once you have added one or all the commands to your control center, go back to your control center and press one to start playing music.

You can also change the playlist for each control. Here’s how.

3 and 3 Press the ambient musical control that you want to modify.
4 Press the playlist to the right of Playlist.

A drop -down menu will appear with additional reading lists for each check. So, if you are in sleep control, you will see other reading lists like Restful Notes and Lo-Fi Snooze. If you have reading lists in your musical application, you will also see the library option, which draws music from your library. Press the reading list you want and will be assigned to this control.

Apple already allows you to transform your iPhone into a white noise machine with background sounds, such as the ocean and rain. But ambient music is real music as opposed to more static sounds in this functionality.

These two features look like a means for Apple to present themselves as the first option when you want to keep music helps you fall asleep or be productive. Other services, such as Spotify and YouTube, already have lists for reading ambient music like these, so it could be the way of Apple to take part of the public from these services.

Apple intelligence controls

Only people with an iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max or the iPhone 16 range can access Apple Intelligence’s features for the moment, and these people have obtained three new Apple intelligence checks with iOS 18.4. These controls speak to Siri, Type to Siri and Visual Intelligence.

Here’s how to find these controls.

3 and 3 Press Add a check.

Then you can use the search bar near the top of the screen to search for “Apple Intelligence” or you can scroll through the Apple Intelligence & Siri section. Press any (or all) of these commands to add them to your control center.

Although Talk to Siri and Type To Siri can be useful if you have trouble accessing the digital assistant, control of visual intelligence is important because it brings Apple’s intelligence function to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

Originally, visual intelligence was only accessible on the iPhone 16 range because these devices had the camera control button. Visual intelligence was only accessible via this button.
