With the latest Google Play Services update, Android deploys a new safety feature that automatically restarts (or automatically) that were “locked for 3 consecutive days”.
Under security and confidentiality, version notes for version 25.14 of Google Play Services understand::
- [Phone] With this feature, your device automatically restarts if it is locked for 3 consecutive days.
By “telephone”, which should also extend to tablets, with other categories of devices – Auto, PC (Windows game reading), television and wear – excluded. Automatic recruitment occurs if you have not used your phone or tablet for more than 72 hours.
Restarting a device, returns it to a state before the first unlock (BFU) where the data is encrypted and more difficult to access, because you have not yet entered your password, with biometric connections not yet activated. On Pixel devices, the bottom of the lock screen notes how you need to “unlock all functionality and data”. In comparison, the data can be easier to access after the first unlocking (AFU) when you are “signed”.
Grave Offers such an automatic recruits functionality (18 hours by default, but users can define it between 10 minutes and 72 hours), while the iPhone has picked up something similar with iOS 18.1 (Restarting inactivity) Last year.
Google Play Services 25.14 Will take place over next week. However, this could take a few more weeks before the new automatic Android feature is activated. Given the nature of the game services, most Android devices on the market today should obtain automobile reruns without the need for an operating system update.
Google has not yet shared other details, including the specific Android versions supported and if there is a user -oriented parameter. It would also be good if there was a message when such a restart occurred.
