With iOS 18, the mail obtains a youthful cure in which your reception box is divided into different categories. This is not a universally loved look, so Apple includes the option of changing the mail for the list. And iOS 18.5 adds even more tools to customize the appearance of your reception box in the way you want.
IOS 18.5, currently available in beta version, is not a massive update for Apple’s iPhone software. Instead, Apple seeks to refine things before its IOS 19 overview, which we plan to see at WWDC 2025 in June. The new mail customization orders adapt perfectly in this memory of refining the software so that everything is in the form of a ship.
More specifically, the iOS 18.5 version of email allows you to hide the contact photos of people who sent you messages. You can also make sure that the application no longer brings together messages from the same sender, rather displaying each individual email as its own message.
You can modify these two commands before the arrival of iOS 18.5, but only in the Settings application. This update moves the controls in the mail itself, which makes them easier to access.
Personally, I prefer to see contact photos in the list of messages in my reception box, as it gives a quick visual mark to let me know who sent a message. This can be useful when I scroll through my reception box to find an email from a particular sender. But people who prefer a more rationalized reception box may want to make these photos disappear, and now they have this option at hand.
Deactivating the group’s view by the sender is a much more vital preference for me. I subscribe to many newsletters, and reading them, I prefer to archive them. When the mail brings together all these newsletters from the same sender together, it is more difficult to delete an individual message. It is therefore a feature that I definitively deactivate.
Do you want to know where to find these two checks now that they are directly available in the mail? Read the rest to find out how to hide the contact photos and deactivate the group by view of the sender in the mail of iOS 18.5.
1. Go to the most

2. Hide contact photos

In the contextual menu that appears, Press show contact photos. If there is a check by the list of small menu, the functionality is activated. Otherwise, the functionality is deactivated.
Cachateer contact photos is available, whether you use the categories or the list view in the mail. If you use categories, deactivate photos in a reception box will also deactivate functionality in other categories.
How to deactivate the group by sender
Unlike the order to hide contacts, the possibility of deactivating the group function by sender is only available if you have opted for the view of the categories by mail. From what I can say, the deactivation group of the sender is not an option in the main reception box. Instead, I could not access the functionality of transactions reception boxes, updates and promotions.
1. Go to the most

If you are in transactions, updates or reception promotions, Select the most menu By pressing the three -point icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Turn off the group by sender

The Group by Sender option appears in the more contextual menu. Press Group by sender To deactivate it (if there is a check mark) or turn it on (if there is no checkout).
Disable the group by sender only applies to the reception box in which you are currently being. You must define your preference for each reception box.
And that’s all there is to access these new checks in the iOS 18.5 version of email. We have advice for using other iOS 18 changes, in particular using the Smart functionality Resplaced in Apple Intelligence compatible iPhones.
You have been able to plan messages in mail from iOS 16, but iOS 18 add the possibility of planning texts in the messages application. We can also show you how to use text effects in iOS 18 messages.
