Apple has published the Beta 2 iOS 18.5 update for iPhone users. Although the latest update does not introduce a lot of new features, it focuses on system refining, which makes it more fluid and faster – based on the foundation posed by the previous iOS 18.5 Beta 1.5 version. Essentially, this means that iPhone users – in particular those who use the IPhone 16 series of current generation – can expect a more stable and reliable version once will be deployed. For the moment, iOS 18.5 BETA 2 mainly concerns bug corrections and the implementation of small but useful improvements to the current system.
A small but notable change comes to the Apple Mail application. In previous updates, Apple had redesigned the messaging application, but some users have missed the simpler look. Now, iOS 18.5 Beta 2 facilitates the hiding place of contact photos in the reception box via a quick option inside the application itself. This small adjustment brings the messaging application closer to its older style, which could facilitate the eyes for certain users. There is also a visual update of the Applecare section and guaranteed in the parameters application, which gives it a cleaner and cooler look, as well as links to the support of options on the Apple website. These changes may not be very important, but they show that Apple always listen to comments and try to improve the experience in small ways.
It is important to note that iOS 18.5 beta 2 focuses mainly on what is happening behind the scenes. Most work in this beta version are to improve system performance and solve very small problems from previous updates. This means that users should not expect many new features at this stage. If you hoped for new features of major AI, you will probably have to wait until iOS 19, which should be announced at the Apple WWDC 2025 event in June. The big changes will probably be recorded for later when Apple reveals its next generation of software and devices.
For those who already use iOS 18.5 beta 1, the beta 2 version brings better stability and prepares the system for a more fluid transition to iOS 19. However, it is always a beta version, so that bugs and other small problems could still appear. Users should keep in mind that the installation of early beta software can sometimes cause problems, and it is not always recommended for everyone.
To check if your iPhone runs the latest software version, go to Settings> General> Software update. If an update is available, it will appear here – just press “Update now” to continue.
