Nike presents AI-designed sneakers | Hypebeast

When it comes to exploring the future of footwear, a topic covered in a new museum exhibition we recently highlighted, there are many elements to consider: technology, materials, style, distribution, etc. For Nike, it took a new approach to imagining where its performance models are going by leveraging artificial intelligence to design sneakers.

For its Olympic-themed showcase in Paris today, which notably featured the reveal of many new Air-based silhouettes, an additional display of AI-designed shoes was included. Using data collected from athletes such as Victor Wembanyama, special shapes and styles were designed to meet the specifications of their needs. Everything from sleek, aerodynamic shapes to high-profile silhouettes with super-sized soles were brought to life for the exhibition, all featuring “AIR” branding with contrasting black Swooshes atop white uppers while plenty of Air units unique orange support each shoe.

Unfortunately for anyone wanting to get their hands on one of these wild concept sneakers, neither model is expected to debut at retail anytime in the future. However, stay tuned for more news as Nike continues to find new ways to push the boundaries of shoe design.
