Adam Driver’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ Monologue: ‘Awakening Killed Han Solo’


Adam Driver’s ‘Star Wars’ gripes are over.

As the host of “Saturday Night Live” on December 9, he performed a monologue while playing the piano and reciting a Christmas letter to Santa Claus.

“I wish people would stop saying to me on the street, ‘You killed Han Solo!'” he said. “I didn’t kill him. Awakening killed Han Solo.”

The joke was a reference to his role as villain Kylo Ren in the Star Wars films The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. Kylo killed Han Solo in The Force Awakens, a storyline that has been widely debated among Star Wars fans.

He begins his Christmas list with: “Hey, Santa. This is me, Adam Driver, from The Good List. And “Girl.” Santa, I’m 40 years old, so I want five pairs of chinos. I also want a giant metal Tesla truck. I think it will go perfectly with my small penis. ”

“Oh, you know those TikToks, like those couples that prank each other? Can you kill those people?” he continued. “I want a gingerbread house for Christmas. Do you think the gingerbread man will be scared when he realizes the house is made of his own skin? That’s a cute one. You can tell your kids that.” ”

This episode marks Adam Driver’s fourth time as host of Saturday Night Live, co-hosting the episode alongside musical guest Olivia Rodrigo. Driver first led “SNL” in 2016, when Chris Stapleton joined him as musical guest, and returned in 2018 with Kanye West in 2020 Back with Halsey.

Driver will soon star as race car driver and businessman Enzo Ferrari in Michael Mann’s biopic “Ferrari,” which also stars Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gadon, Gabri El Leone, Jack O’Connell and Patrick Dempsey. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival earlier this year and will be released on Christmas Day.

Saturday Night Live Season 49 also stars Jason Momoa, Pete Davidson, Nate Bargatze and Timothée Chalamet as hosts, along with musical guests Tate McRae, Ice Spice, Foo Fighters and Boygenius – with Bad Bunny on October 21 Both characters are his own.
