An iOS update will offer owners of the iPhone 15 Pro Visual Intelligence

The owners of the iPhone 15 Pro will soon have a less reason to consider switching to a handset in the iPhone 16 series. Visual Intelligence, the equivalent of Apple to Google Lens, arrives at the flagship products of the Pro 2023 series ,, according to Daring.

The owners of the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro can trigger visual intelligence with a long pressing their dedicated camera button. But like the recently announced iPhone 16 (which also supports functionality), the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max do not have a physical camera button. Thus, the three phones will have to assign it to the action button or use a shortcut of the control center, which will arrive in a next software update.

Apple has not said which iOS version will bring the visual search function of Apple Intelligence to the iPhone 15 Pro series. However, DaringJohn Gruber suspects that it will be in iOS 18.4, which could happen “any day now” for beta testers.

Part of the Apple Intelligence suite of AI features, visual intelligence allows you to point your camera on something and use AI to analyze it in real time. It does a few things in its own right, but it becomes more useful with the information of its shortcuts on the persistent screen towards the image search or Google.

So say that you find a set of towels in your closet with a unique pattern. You really like these Dang towels and you want to buy more, but you don’t remember where you understood them. Activate visual intelligence, choose the Google research shortcut and see if your beloved rags are among the web results that appear. Alternatively, you can use Chatgpt to ask him questions about the product and where to order it.

Visual intelligence can also do a few things without the help of Google or Openai. You can interact with the text: Translate, read aloud and summarize. Or discover a business to which you indicate your phone: display your hours, menu and services or buy something.

Thus, owners of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max should have a taste before a long time. And maybe even earlier for those who wish to defy the waters (sometimes rough) of beta software.
