Tl; DR

  • Android 16 Beta 3 has become available for pixel users to test last Thursday.
  • Now Google already offers an update, because Beta 3.1 begins to leave.
  • This version corrects a handful of bugs, one of which caused the screen reduction during media reading.

Regarding Google’s work by preparing Android 16 for its stable version, we are really starting to arrive at the end of the road. This year’s development continued on an accelerated calendar, and last week, we got what we thought was our latest beta version before the stability of the platform, with the release of Android 16 Beta 3. It turns out that Google gets a little more mileage of these Bettas, because it drops a new punctual version update.

Just as we saw Android 16 Beta 2.1 Land at the end of last month with a few bug corrections that could simply not wait Beta 3, today Google Announcement that Android 16 Beta 3.1 is deployed in testers with more bug corrections. Google shares the following improvements:

  • Fixed a problem that caused a system for the system parameters on several occasions when launching if the language language was defined on a language other than English. (Number No. 403303683))
  • Fixed a problem that has made the screen brightness oscillate between a brightness parameter specified by the application and automatic parameters, specified by the system or specified by the user. (Number 392522561))
  • Fixed a performance problem that caused an excessive battery discharge from a high processor load.
  • Fixed a performance problem that sometimes caused memory leaks in the system server.

The one who immediately draws our attention there, as we recently reported on a wave of user complaints concerning unexpected screen fat with applications like Netflix after the release of Google’s March update for pixels. Apparently, this is also a problem with Android 16, as it reports that Google links itself to describe the same behavior. In the future, at least, beta 3.1 should suffocate it in the bud.

Everyone already tests Android 16 Beta 3 on their pixel phones will get 3.1 as an OTA update, so there is really no necessary action on your part beyond the search for this update notification.
