Google announcement On Thursday, Android Phones will soon support Auracast, a new Bluetooth technology that uses a phone to allow direct connection of audio emissions hearing aids in noisy environments.
With Auracast, compatible hearing aids and headphones can receive direct audio flows, such as a sound system in a station or audio broadcast during a concert. Google notes that hearing aid presets can be applied to these emissions, which means that users can personalize flows to their audience.
At launch, the feature arrives on Samsung Galaxy phones with One UI 7 and Google Pixel 9 Phones running the last Android 16 Beta. The functionality works with audio aid the compatible, including those of companies like GN Hearing and Starkey.
Google has also announced that Pixel 9 devices can now connect to emissions via QR codes, which deletes the need for people to grant their settings when they try to access public dissemination.
The latest Android 16 BETA also provides a new accessibility feature that will allow low vision users to describe the text to facilitate reading. It also includes a functionality for protecting local networks (LNP) which, according to Google, will give “users more control over applications that can access the devices on their local network”.
Android 16 should be launched in June.
