In an unexpected turn, Google has just started to deploy another Android Auto update in version 13.9, but do not expect major changes.
Google generally launches the new updates of the Android Auto application according to a calendar almost once a month, but the company has just published Android Auto 13.9 unexpectedly beta Deployment channel only a few days after Android Auto 13.8 graduated from the beta version.
The update does not provide much in the direction of new revolutionary modifications, but makes some updates as we will detail below.
About APK Insight: In this publication “APK Insight”, we have broken down the latest version of an application that Google downloaded on the Play Store. When we unpack these files (called APK, in the case of Android applications), we can see various lines of code in which refers to future possible features. Keep in mind that Google may or may not send these features, and our interpretation of what they may be imperfect. We will try to allow those who are closer to be finished, however, to show you what they look like in case they send. In this spirit, read the rest.
Android Auto 13.9 updates the language throughout the experience with a new terminology. These updates can be found throughout the experience, and partially continue work that started earlier this year in Android Auto 13.5. In many places that refer to the use of Android Auto on a “car”, the application now says “vehicle”.
For example, in a game of Android Auto, Google previously said:
“Android Auto will resume when your car is parked. Already parked? Take the parking brake.
Now the application says:
“Android Auto will resume when your vehicle is parked. Already parked? Take the parking brake.
We do not list all the changes here because there are dozens, but some other examples include:
- “To start, select Android Auto on the screen of your vehicle”
- “To continue, use the screen of your vehicle or press Détresse to stop.”
- “Your phone may not connect to a vehicle while USB debugging is on. You can deactivate this in developer options. »»
- “Press here to find out how to get a new software version for your vehicle”
- “Show the weather on your vehicle screen, obtained using your phone location”
Some of the changes made were also mentioned in the update of the V13.5 Beta.
Presumably, Google has also included various bug corrections in this update, but we will have to wait and see if they make changes to the current bugs. Hopefully this includes a fix for wireless connection problems.
Android Auto 13.9 is now deployed, but may not be available for all users for a while.
