If you read this website, you’ve probably come across a rant or two about the state of smartphone color options. They felt limited at best, especially considering there are fewer phone options overall. Is it possible that Samsung heard my screams? I’ll say yes, it’s all thanks to me.
This week Samsung introduced two new colors for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+: Navy and Coral Red (pre-orders open). And yes, Coralred is a word and it’s stupid. These colors are what I expected, but in true Android enthusiast fashion, I’m still not entirely satisfied.
Why only for the S25 and S25+, Samsung? The Galaxy S25 Ultra, the flagship phone, did not receive this color treatment. To be honest, it’s quite disappointing. Most people will probably say they use a case on their phone anyway, but that’s not always the case for me. Since I started taking phone pictures, I want to take something pretty to photograph. 50 shades of gray, white and black can get a little dull, right?
But the accessories still need to be delivered to Samsung. If you’re another fan of red or blue phones and you’re shopping for a Galaxy S25, make sure you choose one of those colors so Samsung can see there’s a desire for options like that. Perhaps we’ll see an exclusive color launch later this year for the S25 Ultra? I could see this happening.
