Google’s Android Switch lets you transfer contacts, call logs, messages, alarms, calendar events, photos, videos, app data and more from iOS to Android, this which makes it easy to switch from an iPhone to an Android phone. However, there are still many things that the tool cannot move from one platform to another. One of these things is burst photos.
If you took burst photos with iPhone, you cannot transfer them to Android via Android Switch because the transfer tool does not support it. Well, not anymore.
Paul Dunlop, product manager for Android integration and Android settings at Google, revealed that Google has updated Android Switch with the ability to transfer burst photos from iOS to Android. In his article on Threads, he said: “With this update, you’ll still keep your full set of burst photos when transferring over cable or WiFi, meaning you’ll still be able to choose a different best photo, even after switching from iOS to Pixel.»

We assume that Google has updated the Android Switch app for Android as well as the one for iOS to provide the ability to burst photos. In the post on Threads, Paul says: “The feature is now available for updated Pixel devices through initial setup and the Android Switch app.“We hope Google will roll out support to other Android phones as well. He also added that these burst photos will appear as a stack in Google Photos, which is a huge relief.
