Apple Max airpods to win an audio without loss, low latency audio support with iOS 18.4 update

Apple’s most expensive wireless headphones – AirPods Max – will soon obtain the management of two new audio features. As part of the next iOS 18.4 update, Apple will introduce loss -free audio reading on AirPods Max. The new feature will only be available on the updated version of the AirPods Max which has a USB type-C port. Apple also says that the AirPods Max will soon offer low latency performance with the USB cable which is tied with the integrated speakers on the other devices of the company.

The new AirPods Max audio features require a USB type-C cable

According to the company, the iOS 18.4 update, which is expected to arrive next month, will add an audio reading without loss on AirPods Max. Users who connect their headphones using a Type-C USB cable will be able to listen to the audio without 24-bit loss and 48 kHz, while using a compatible device. Lossless audio streaming is offered by a service like Tidal or Apple Music.

Apple also says that the AirPods Max will obtain the management of low latency audio reading, with the iOS 18.4 update. The low latency mode is activated when the USB type -C mode is connected to the headphones and will allow the support of another Apple feature generally supported on its wireless headsets – personalized space audio with head tracking.

Like several other wired headphones, the AirPods Max will offer a low latency audio reading, which means that it can be used for the game. Apple says that the AirPods Max provide equal performances with the integrated speakers on its iPad, iPhone and Mac computers.

It should be noted that the new audio support with low latency and without Apple loss will only be available on the AirPods Max variant with a USB type-C port. The old version with a Lightning connector will not be able to take advantage of these features.

Apple now sells a new 3.5 mm USB-Type-C audio cable which allows users to connect Max AirPods to devices that do not have a USB type-C port, such as flight entertainment systems (IFE). The same cable can be used to connect the iPhone 15 and new models (or an iPad with a USB type-C port) to read the audio on stereo speakers with a 3.5 mm audio port.
