Apple publishes iOS and iPados critical updates to correct the security flaw

Apple has published updates for its iOS and iPados operating systems last week, designed to combat a significant security defect that could have unwanted consequences for users. The published versions, iOS 18.3.2 and iPados 18.3.2, aim to help protect owners of iphones and ipads against a critical vulnerability linked to Webkit, the engine that feeds many applications, including Safari.

As indicated by Technological advisor On March 18, 2025, while the defect was initially attenuated in iOS 17.2, the last versions were supposed to eliminate it entirely. This defect allowed the malicious actors to use the web content made to escape webkit security protocols. Given the crucial role of the engine through the Apple ecosystem, this type of capacity is particularly worrying.
