Apple releases second beta versions of iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 to developers for testing

Apple today released the second beta versions of its upcoming iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 updates to developers for testing. The new betas arrive three weeks after the first betas.

It’s not yet clear what’s included in iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3, although there don’t appear to be any new Apple Intelligence features in the beta versions. The update is expected to bring support for robot vacuums in HomeKit, but no notable changes were found in the first beta. An additional ‌Apple Intelligence‌ Siri feature is expected in iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 updates.

Apple Intelligence features require an iPhone 15 Pro or ‌iPhone 16‌ model, iPadOS 18.2 requires an iPad with an A17 Pro or M series chip, and ‌macOS Sequoia‌ 15.2 requires a Mac with an M series chip.

iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 testing began in December, so updates will likely be released in late January.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple are both warning users not to install beta versions on their iPhone or iPad daily driver. Instead, only install beta versions on a device intended for testing purposes.
