Apple stops signing iOS 18.2 after iOS 18.2.1 release

Apple recently released iOS 18.2.1, and as usual, it has now stopped signing iOS 18.2, making downgrading to this version of iOS no longer possible.

iOS 18.2.1 software can be downloaded to compatible devices over-the-air by going to “Settings” -> “General” -> “Software update.”

Apple’s iOS 18.2.1 update included unspecified bug fixes.

Although resorting to an older version of iOS is often used by users who jailbreak their iPhone, it can also be useful for users who experience significant bugs after upgrading to the latest version of iOS.

By preventing users from downgrading their devices to older versions of iOS, Apple ensures that devices are kept up to date with the latest security improvements.
