Aptoide launches entirely to iOS consumers across the EU

Alternative App Store Aptoide has fully launched its service on iOS in the European Union.

As part of its launch, an APP versions feature has been introduced which allows users to install old versions of applications. This was previously advisable on Android.

Aptoide opened its doors with a beta version in June 2024, which saw a waiting list of 20,000 users. As indicated above, Aptoide offers another payment system integrated into the application for iOS and offers an IAP software development kit in collaboration with Apple.

“This complete launch marks an important step in the distribution of the game for the commitment of iOS and Aptoide to an open and without restriction distribution ecosystem,” said Aptoide CEO Paulo Trezentos.

“Apple users now have access to new freedoms, but there is still a huge amount of work to continue to open iOS on a global scale and reduce friction for users and game developers.”

Shortly after the launch in Aptoide beta last year, Epic Games published his mobile boutique bringing Fortnite and Fall Guys to iOS in the EU and Android around the world.

The two companies were able to publish these independent application stores following the implementation of the law on digital markets last year, which obliges Apple to authorize third-party application stores on its platform.
