Shelter in place lifted in Auburn, no more threat to public

SOLUTION. ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, VICTORIA. WE’RE COMING BACK SOON. AND THIS MORNING WE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE LATEST NEWS. WE NOW HAVE AN UPDATE OUT OF AUBURN WHERE THERE WAS AN ONGOING SITUATION. THERE WAS A SUSPECT IN SEVERAL FIRES. SO WE WANT TO COME BACK WITH OUR LIVE CREW. So Jacob, hello. WHAT IS JUST EVOLVING HERE? WHAT CAN YOU TELL US? YEAH. Hello Norah. Well, Auburn Police just announced that they are putting the shelter back in place and the area is now safe. Um, you know, all morning we were following this shelter in place, and they sent out an emergency alert, which, again, had come to my phone, this time pretty close to when they ‘had posted on Facebook. SO AGAIN, THIS AREA IS NO LONGER UNDER SHELTER IN PLACE. HOWEVER, THERE WILL STILL BE A POLICE PRESENCE IN THE AREA. Behind me is Court Street and this has all been centered around Russell Avenue, which is further down Court Street to the left. You can’t really see the police cars there now, but we still saw people come in, uh, drive up to warn me or apologize to me, not to report, but just to take care of this situation. Um, so they’re asking people to avoid this area. IF ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. TODAY, WHILE THEY ARE DOING THIS INVESTIGATION. You know, this morning we spoke with people who live in the area. IT WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION FOR THEM, ESPECIALLY NOT HAVING A LOT OF INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. There had been reports of large structure fires in the area and an armed suspect on the loose. SO IT WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION. But you know, the police now say the area is safe. AND I HOPEFUL SOME OF THE PEOPLE WE TALKED TO THIS MORNING COULD RETURN THEIR HOUSES. I know, you know, one family was very worried about their dogs. So I hope they were able to go home now and make sure everything is safe. BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO BRING YOU UPDATES ON THIS SITUATION AS WE GET MORE INFORMATION ON WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED THIS MORNING. BUT, YOU KNOW, IF YOU LIVE IN THE AREA, YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR HOME NOW. YOU KNOW, YOU CAN FEEL IT
