Barcelona retains the Women’s Champions League title!
The Barcelona players sing “We are the champions”, arms linked, the song roaring throughout the stadium. Meanwhile, Clàudia Pina carries the trophy as if she were a baby. Scenes.
Jonatan Giráldez kisses the trophy as he walks past. What a moment for the Barcelona coach! The silverware stays in Spain!
Lyon receives its finalist medals, but most players win them straight away. Lots of disappointed faces on the French side. A heartbreaking end to the season and a potential heartbreaking end to Sonia Bompastor’s tenure as manager.

It’s finish! The curse has been broken! Barcelona beat Lyon to win the Champions League!
90+7 minutes: Batlle comes forward before passing the ball to Pina on the left. Putellas rushes into the area, receives Pina’s pass before shooting!
The Barcelona No.11 is then booked for taking off her shirt to celebrate – but that’s okay!

Game over! Super-sub Putellas strikes for Barcelona to seal Champions League title!
90+4 minutes: Dumornay aims for the goal just inside the Barcelona area, but Putellas arrives to make an exceptional tackle! Two minutes to play!
90+2 minutes: She’s there! The captain’s armband is handed over to Alexia Putellas, who replaces Walsh for Barcelona. Cláudia Pina will also replace Caldentey.
90+1 minutes: SIX minutes were added. Can Barcelona see this match? Lyon is now throwing absolutely everything at the current holders.
87 minutes: Hansen collects the ball in his own half, passes Bacha and looks to attack, but Dumornay comes back to make a superb tackle. Lyon then look to advance again as the ball passes into Hegerberg, but the striker’s effort misses the target.
85 minutes: Barcelona are next to make a change as Esmee Brugts replaces Paralluelo. Time must be passing very slowly for the Spanish team as we count down the final minutes.
83 minutes: Coll is ready to play at the moment. Meanwhile, Lyon made two more changes with Vicki Bècho replacing Gilles and Ada Hegerberg in place of Van de Donk.
81 minutes: It is extremely worrying for Barcelona, Coll appears to have avoided a head injury, which was the initial concern, but she appears to be suffering from an ankle problem.
78 minutes: Batlle falls to the ground with a blow, giving Diani a free kick in the area. She crosses the ball and Coll and Horan clash strongly. It didn’t look good at all.
75 minutes: I’m exhausted just watching Hansen in this match. The Barcelona striker is not slowing down at all! She bursts in from the right and makes a long run into the box. But just as she goes for goal, Bacha slides in to make the tackle of the match so far, completely putting her body on the line. What a challenge!
72 minutes: Hansen steps forward to take the kick and goes for goal, but his effort is fired straight into the Lyon wall.
70 minutes: Hansen is completely destroyed by Renard on the right. The Lyon captain becomes the first player booked this evening.
The free kick is sent into the area and Lyon tries to clear, but the ball falls to Van de Donk who appears to handle it in a dangerous area. Another free kick is awarded.
68 minutes: This is the first time that Barcelona has taken the lead against Lyon in the Women’s Champions League. Can they hang on to it? There’s just over 20 minutes left to play!
66 minutes: Both teams make one change as Rolfö is replaced by Ona Batlle for Barcelona.
In Lyon, Amel Majri replaces Cascarino.
64 minutes: Bonmatí carries the ball into the box, avoiding obstacles in his path before scoring. He deflects Gilles before passing Endler and entering the net!

60 minutes: Luck for Barcelona as Rolfö enters the box. She passes the ball into a dangerous area and Paralluelo looks to head it towards goal, but Bacha blocks before clearing the danger.
57 minutes: Lyon obtains a free kick in a dangerous area following a foul by Engen on Dumornay. The striker was brilliant this evening for Lyon, we forget that she is only 20 years old!
The ball is sent straight into the area and Gilles aims for goal, but Coll recovers with ease.
55 minutes: Barcelona is furious! Walsh looks to send Hansen through on goal from midfield, but referee Rebecca Welch accidentally gets in the way! Of course, the game is stopped. Perhaps a huge disappointment for Lyon!
52 minutes: Bronze was another standout player for Barcelona tonight. His partnership with Hansen on the right caused many problems for Lyon.
Joe Pearson wrote to ask: “Lucy Bronze therefore won this competition with both teams: three in a row with Lyon, and last year with Barcelona. Does that make her the wild card here? Or is her presence at Barcelona just another indicator of the shift in power in women’s football?

49 minutes: Lyon gets a corner. The ball is centered in the area but Coll clears it. Van de Donk receives it in midfield and sends another cross into the box. Renard is there and goes for the goal with a half-volley, but his shot goes over the bar.
46 minutes: Lyon comes straight out of the gates and heads towards goal. Dumornay makes his way into the box and looks to place the ball in the six yard area, but Coll is there to make the save.

Caroline Graham Hansen was by far the most notable player here. Her mission is to bring the trophy back to Barcelona, causing Lyon many problems on the right. She is absolutely unstoppable today.

43 minutes: Hansen has been absolutely brilliant so far. The striker has been the catalyst for every Barcelona attack. Lyon is really struggling to get by.
