Bears’ DJ Moore makes fantasy owners happy after burning commanders in first half

News

The Chicago Bears, winless in their past 14 games, came out firing on all cylinders against the Washington Commanders on Thursday night, and top receiver DJ Moore was a key reason why the halftime score reached 27-3.

Bears quarterback Justin Fields lost last week’s game against the Denver Broncos, but he continued the momentum on his first drive of the game when He found Moore down the left sideline for a 58-yard bomb to the Washington 16-yard line. .

Then, when it looked like the Bears were going to stop after a Fields sack forced a third-and-14, Fields threw an absolute point to Moore in the back left corner of the end zone for a quick win. Six points.

But Moore wasn’t done yet in the first quarter.

The Fields-Moore combo was on full display once again as the Bears quickly got the ball back after forcing a Commander three-and-out.

On the first serve, Moore ran a simple curve route and Fields finished it with his chest. It looked like the playmaker’s corner covering Moore was going to knock him out the moment he caught the ball.

However, Moore’s tackle was poor and cost Washington. He slipped a tackle and hit the ball down the right sideline for a 39-yarder instead of the 7 he expected.

This infuriated the Bears, who continued to drive the ball into Washington territory. On third-and-6 from the Washington 11, Fields trusted Moore again with a fadeaway pass into the back of the end zone.

Moore jumped up, snatched the ball out of the air and scored his second touchdown of the half in just over 15 minutes of play.

Moore had five catches for 137 yards and two scores in the first half, and they would be happy to have him in the starting lineup in fantasy football.

But it wasn’t just Moore who led the Bears to a 307-84 first-half yardage win over the Commanders. They rushed for 122 yards, led by running back Khalil Herbert’s 76 yards on nine carries. Of course, Fields also had his own rushing performance, rushing for 27 yards on six carries.

Additionally, Fields found Cole Kmet for a touchdown, and he caught five passes for 42 yards.

The Bears are hungry for a win and are in the best position to finally end their losing streak in the 2022 season.
