Brat Pack’s Demi Moore, Andrew McCarthy, Jon Cryer and Ally Sheedy Reunite


Some members of the Brat Pack gathered in honor of Andrew McCarthythe documentary, PREGNANTSat the Tribeca Film Festival.

Demi Moore, Jon Cryer, Ally Sheedy, McCarthy, 61, and others were all smiles while posing at the premiere of PREGNANTS. The documentary premiered at the OKX Theater at the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York on Friday, June 7.

The Hulu documentary, written and directed by McCarthy, includes interviews with Moore, 61, Cryer, 59, Sheedy, 61, and other ’80s stars from “The Brat Pack.”

The term was coined by David Blum in a 1985 New York Review cover story, referring to the group that starred in classic coming-of-age films like Sixteen Candles, Fire of Saint-Elmo And Pretty in pink. (Blum will also be featured in the documentary.)

The Brat Pack “is to the 1980s what the Rat Pack was to the 1960s,” Blum wrote at the time. “A traveling group of famous young stars looking for parties, women and good times. And just like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford And Sammy Davis Jr.these guys also work together – they’ve brought their life friendships to film.

He continued, “What makes you a Member, what makes you a Brat, is the ability to be in a position where Hollywood needs you more than you need Hollywood.”

The documentary’s synopsis states that it “explores the cultural phenomenon” of films like Fire of St. Elmo And The breakfast clubboth released in 1985, which “tapped into teenage angst and reached young audiences in a way that had never been done before.”

“The films have gained a near-cult following, but the ‘Brat Pack’ label will have an unexpected impact on the careers of young actors for decades to come,” reads the synopsis.

Before the release of the documentary, Judd Nelson confirmed exclusively to Us every week that there had been a “request” for him to join but that he “politely refused”.

“I don’t even know who’s in the Brat Pack,” Nelson, 64, said. We in March. “It’s like, why bring back something that wasn’t necessarily fun? …How can we be experts on something that never really existed?

The breakfast club The star explained why he didn’t want to take a trip down memory lane.

“It seems strange that this topic is intended for edited entertainment,” Nelson said. “Plus, he’s a nice guy, but I haven’t seen him in 35 years. And it’s like I’m not going to (be) like, ‘Hey!’ No man.”

PREGNANTS premieres Thursday, June 13 on Hulu.
