ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – FIRST ALERT CBS7 Forecast for Wednesday, May 1, 2024: It’s another one of those days in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico where we have fire weather conditions almost critical for western regions, then high fire potential. severe thunderstorms for eastern regions.

Temperatures throughout the day will be slightly cooler than recent days, with high temperatures reaching the 80s and 90s throughout the day. Skies will be partly cloudy for most of the day before we start to see thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening.

Conditions will calm down and warm up for our Thursday with highs back in the 90s and sunny skies expected throughout the day. Rain chances return to forecast Friday with these slightly cooler temperatures. Chances of rain continue through the weekend, with chances of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. Cooler temperatures are also expected through the weekend, with highs in the 80s. Windy conditions return to the area on Monday, accompanied by warmer conditions. We’re looking at the potential next week for the hottest days of the year so far, so that’s something we need to keep an eye on as we head into the new week.
