Donald Glover shared a Childish Gambino album that he describe as “the final version of ‘3.15.20’, the album I released 4 years ago”. It’s called Atavista and it’s out now. The 11-track disc includes the new song “Little Foot Big Foot,” featuring Young Nudy, which is also accompanied by a black-and-white music video directed by longtime Glover collaborator Hiro Murai, featuring Quinta Brunson, Monyett Crump , Rob Bynes, and others. Glover released 3.15.20 in 2020, uploading the unfinished album to donaldgloverpresents.com before removing it. It included a number of songs similar, if not identical, to those that appear on Atavista. When it reappeared on streaming services a week later, it was under the name 3.15.20 featuring new song titles and appearances from Ariana Grande, Kadhja Bonet, 21 Savage and Ink, among others.
As Glover noted in his statement, most of the songs Atavista are refined versions of these songs. He also added: “There will be a special vinyl coming soon with visuals for each song” and “Childish Gambino’s brand new album will be released this summer.”
Since the fall 3.15.20Glover has worked on a number of film and television projects: His popular FX series Atlanta concluded; he produced the Prime Video series Swarm in 2022; his remake of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, with Maya Erskine, dropped this year; and he was asked to develop a Lando Calrissian feature film.
