WASHINGTON (TND) — America’s largest women’s public policy organization, Concerned Women for America (CWA), will lead a prayer for the nation this afternoon and every day this week at the Republican National Convention.
CWA President Penny Nance joined The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat to discuss more about the organization and attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
“We are in a spiritual crisis in this country and I think it is clear to almost anyone who cares to look. We have traded our faith and our principles for politics. We have gone from morality to nihilism which says there is no God, no truth, no natural law,” she said. “It is time for us to return to our faith.”
Trump’s attempted house arrest has rocked the nation, leading many to fear for the presidential candidate’s safety.
Nance released a statement saying: “The vitriol against President Trump has turned into real violence. Innocent lives have been lost. It is time for those who love our country to get on their knees and pray, thank God for his mercy and ask for his favor.”
“At the Republican National Convention, every day at 2:30 p.m., Concerned Women for America will lead a prayer outside,” Nance said. “We are so grateful that the president is safe and we pray for the families of those who were killed or injured.”
The CWA has more than half a million members dedicated to promoting biblical values and constitutional principles.
