Eminem has just released his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce)and in true Slim Shady style, he calls out Diddy for the sexual assault allegations against him on the song “Fuel” featuring JID.

Eminem Takes on Diddy on New Song ‘Fuel’

On Friday (July 12), Em came out with his highly anticipated 12th studio LP, The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce). The album title means the “final blow or the blow given to kill” Slim Shady, which means “coup de grâce.” On the 19-track project, Em returns to his menacing ways and takes aim at Diddy on the track “Fuel” featuring JID.

“Don’t make a test like a trial (Why?) / ‘Cause where my homies at in the West, yeah (Yeah) /
We can just say (What?) / I’m like a RAPPER / I got so many SA / SA / Wait, he didn’t just spell rapper and leave out a “P,” did he? / Yeah / RIP, rest in peace, Biggie / And ‘Pac, you both should be alive / Yeah, but I don’t wanna mess with him ’cause he might hit me like Keefe D, get him / And that’s the only way you can kill me (Nah)
I ain’t on no beat, dumbass (Yeah),” he raps.

The specific lyric, “I’m like a RAPER/I got so many SA/SA/Wait, he didn’t just spell the word rapper and leave out a ‘P,’ did he?” is a reference to Diddy’s 1990s moniker, P. Diddy, and the numerous sexual assault allegations that have been filed against him. Since last November, eight lawsuits have been filed alleging rape, sexual assault, sex trafficking and battery by the disgraced rap mogul, among other charges. One lawsuit filed by Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie was settled out of court.

Shady is back after a hiatus

Eminem’s latest studio effort comes after Dr. Dre first confirmed the existence of new Eminem music on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March. Marshall later confirmed the news himself when he released a trailer for The Death of Slim Shady in the 2024 NFL Draft. Em continued to tease the album by posting an obituary in the Detroit Free Press May 14th.

“Slime Shady left a lasting impression,” the newspaper headlined. The obituary explained Slim Shady’s iconic impact on rap, explaining how he was a “rebel splinter in the thriving underground rap scene” who became a household name after the release of “My Name Is” in 1999.

Eminem then confirmed that the album was on the way after sharing a cryptic trailer on social media on May 20. He then released a playful trailer for “Houdini” on May 29, which features famous illusionist David Blaine eating a glass of wine. After releasing “Houdini” and its accompanying video on May 31, he dropped the album’s second single “Tobey” on June 28, which features Big Sean and BabyTron.
