If you have a new iPhone or Mac, there are many reasons to update to iOS 18.4 or MacOS 15.4, but users of older devices may not be so quick to press the download button. But these updates are particularly important – Apple has corrected a pair of vulnerabilities originally in iOS 18.3.1 and 18.3.2 and five dozen fixes for more recent phones and Macs.
In iOS 16.7.11 (compatible with iphones 6-13) and iOS 15.8.4 (compatible with iphones 8-14), Apple has published a pair of security updates to fix the zero days previously exploited in nature. Apple previously discussed the defects of iOS 18.3.1 (accessibility) and 18.3.2 (webkit) for more recent iPhones, but they have remained usable in older phones until this week.
Apple also corrected a coredia flaw actively exploited in the older iPads and Macs which were first set in iOS 18.3 and MacOS 15.3.
Apple says that vulnerabilities have been used in “extremely sophisticated” attacks, which means that hackers have targeted high -level people in government or business. However, as long as the fault remains open to your devices, there is always a risk that it can be used with low -level malware, so we recommend that you update as soon as possible. See our tests of the best Mac Antivirus programs for more security options.
Apple has also published a few dozen security fixes for new iPhones and Macs with iOS 18.4 and macOS 15.4, as well as iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Vision Pro, no matter the Apple device you have, go up to date this weekend before it is too late.
