The development follows similar accusations against a trainee IAS officer. Puja Khedkar.
Singh, who got his post under the disabled category, came under fire after videos surfaced on social media showing him dancing and working out at a gym, raising doubts over his eligibility under the locomotor disabled (LD) category.
Twitter users questioned his eligibility, citing the criteria for the PwBD-3 category, which includes conditions such as cerebral palsy, leprosy recovery, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy.
In response to these allegations, Singh took to social media to refute the claims regarding his father’s influence and his own caste.
He highlighted his journey from a humble background to becoming an IAS officer, saying, “You said my father was an IPS officer, so I had the advantage. Let me tell you that my father came from a very poor background and became a PPS officer and then got promoted to IPS. He has 3 children, that is, I have a younger sister and a younger brother. They also prepared for UPSC but could not get selected, apart from that, my other 7 cousins have tried, many are trying, but no one has been selected yet. I am the only one in my entire family who has been selected in IAS.”
Singh also expressed his intention to advocate for reservations in government jobs based on population and criticised those opposing such policies, saying, “Wherever government resources are spent in this country, it should be done equitably. Reservation in government jobs should be based on population. I will now start a movement and demand reservation based on population by removing this 50 per cent ceiling and will ensure that it is upheld constitutionally.”
Meanwhile, IAS probationer Puja Khedkar is also under investigation for allegedly using fake disability and OBC certificates to get her job.
A panel headed by DoPT Joint Secretary Manoj Dwivedi will examine the authenticity of his documents and determine whether proper verification was carried out.
According to reports, Khedkar did not appear for the mandatory medical tests at AIIMS Delhi to confirm her disability and instead submitted certificates from a private hospital, raising further suspicions about her case.
