Apple has published the fourth beta version of iOS 18.4 earlier this week, and the new beta seed allows users to deactivate a confidentiality compromise search function.
The first beta iOS 18.4 included a new safari feature that revealed your recent research history whenever you open a new browser tab and have operated in the search field. This allowed anyone to look over your shoulder or that borrowed your iPhone to see your recent research. This is a problem when you are looking for birthday gifts for your spouse or are looking for “this kind of photos” of anyone except your spouse.
Apple solved the problem from the fourth beta seed of iOS 18.4. In the Safari section in the Settings application, an option “Show recent research” is now available that can be activated or on.
Users who wish to keep the activated functionality can also use the Safari private navigation mode, which does not expose recent research, that you have or deactivated the search history function.
IOS 18.4 is still testing in beta version, Apple aiming for a launch date in early April.
