It’s almost time to break out the red, white and blue as one of the biggest holidays of summer approaches.
DAVENPORT, Iowa — As the weather begins to warm up and the school year comes to an end, the big summer break is fast approaching. From fireworks to live music, residents in the News 8 viewing area will have plenty of options to celebrate the Fourth of July.
News 8 put together a list of Independence Day festivities for people of all ages. It will be updated with other events as we get closer to July 4th.

Red, White and Boom!
The annual Red, White and Boom! A fireworks show will take place July 3 at LeClaire Park in Davenport and Schwiebert Park in Rock Island. Food vendors, live music and children’s activities will be located on both sides of the river before the fireworks begin. Free entry. Participants must bring their own lawn chairs.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m. in Rock Island and 6 p.m. in Davenport. The fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. Those attending the Quad Cities River Bandits game can stay after the game ends to watch the show.

4th of July Celebration in Muscatine
The 2024 Muscatine 4th of July Celebration will begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 in downtown Muscatine.
The celebration lasts all day and begins with the children’s parade at 9 a.m. A community parade begins at 4 p.m., the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra will play at the Pearl City Station at 8:10 p.m., and fireworks will cap off the celebration at dusk.
