The SEC is loaded with elite baseball talent.
Five teams – including SEC regular-season co-champion Tennessee – were ranked in the top 10 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll. The conference also has the top four projected seeds for the NCAA Tournament, including five of the top eight, according to D1Baseball.
Before the conference can demonstrate its power on the national stage, it first has to determine its most superior team – through the SEC tournament. The SEC’s preparation for the Road to the College World Series is set to be played at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama, and will provide insight into which teams are truly elite ahead of the CWS.

Play begins Tuesday and ends Sunday, the day of the championship game. The top four seeds — No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Arkansas, No. 3 Kentucky and No. 4 Texas A&M — all earned first-round byes in the tournament and will begin play Wednesday.
No. 6 Georgia and No. 11 LSU will begin the tournament at 10:30 a.m. ET with the first of four single-elimination games scheduled for Tuesday. The tournament moves to double elimination on Wednesday before returning to single elimination for Saturday’s semifinals and Sunday’s championship.
