Gemini AI memory feature now can recall previous chats

The more intelligent AI programs like Chatgpt and Gemini become, the more we want to use them as virtual assistants. To make it happen, we will need the AIS to access information about us from all kinds of applications and remember the details about us. We will also have to be able to trust companies like Openai and Google with increasingly personal data.

OPENAI was the first to provide memory features to Chatgpt. This happened with personalized instructions, a feature that I have used since it has become available. About a year ago, Openai also added a chatgpt memory function which allowed him to remember things on cat users beyond the scope of personalized instructions. All of this occurs with user knowledge and memories can be deleted at any time. In addition, they do not form AI if you correctly define your Chatgpt confidentiality preferences.

Gemini needed more time to get memory features similar to Chatgpt. Google deployed the first memory features in November, but they are available for Gemini Advanced subscribers. Chatgpt memory features are also available to pay chatgpt users.

However, Google has now improved Gemini’s memory in a way that Optai does not have. You can tell Gemini to recall the information from your previous cats with AI on a similar subject, which can be practical to take a conversation on the same subject.

“From today, Gemini can now recall your past cats to provide more useful answers,” said Google in a blog THURSDAY. “Whether you are asking a question about something you have already discussed or asking Gemini to summarize a previous conversation, Gemini now uses information from relevant cats to develop an answer.”

Although I have personalized instructions activated in Chatgpt and update them from time to time, I do not use the memory function. I do not fully trust the AI to remember information about me, not that I provided information that could be too personal to give the AI to start.

However, Google upgrade for Gemini is something I would like to chatgpt. The possibility for Chatgpt to recall certain conversations on a similar subject would certainly be useful, because that would prevent me from having identical cats. It can happen from time to time.

I will remind you that chatgpt research has given Chatgpt a major user interface overhaul, allowing users to search for previous cats. It makes it easier to recall past conversations, but I have to do it manually. In addition, Chatgpt supports the files, so that I can combine similar cats in the same file to rationalize my interactions with AI.

Google’s track is better. I would like to tell AI to look at past conversations and find relevant information. It is not necessarily the same as the memory function. It is simply a question of giving access to my chat data already stored in my account with a twist. I would be able to manage AI data.

Google says this is the case with Gemini:

You control the stored information. You can easily consult, delete or decide how long to keep your cat’s history. You can also completely deactivate the activity of Gemini applications by going to my activity. Gemini can indicate when he uses your cats spent in sources and related content.

The new memory functionality is deployed in English and you will need an advanced Gemini subscription via the Google One AI Premium plan. This subscription also gives you access to Google Cloud Storage, making it a better deal than Chatgpt Plus.

Google Workspace Business and Enterprise Subscribers will also get the functionality in the coming weeks.
